A Career Built Across Disciplines

Venndigm was founded by Oommen Thomas, PhD — a financial economist, engineer, and educator who came to academia after a 25-year career in consulting and industry. His journey took him from engineering into finance via graduate school, and from industry into academia — a path that gave him a rare, multi-lens view of how knowledge gaps shape organizational outcomes.

Along the way, Dr. Thomas spent over two decades in technical and leadership roles solving complex, high-stakes financial problems, including serving as US Head of the IP Consulting practice at KPMG, Managing Director in the Economic and Valuation Services (EVS) practice, and National People Development Leader for EVS. He currently holds a joint Finance and Supply Chain/Information Management faculty appointment at the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University.

To put that learning from and experience of seeing how knowledge and skills gaps cause heavy underutilization of talent, he has invested in multiple initiatives to bridge those gaps at scale.

Three Initiatives.
One Mission.

Each initiative under Venndigm targets a specific gap — in financial literacy, in workforce readiness, or in strategic business capability — with the same core conviction: that well-directed knowledge creates outsized value.

The Financial Library

Free Applied Finance Education

Traditional finance education leads with formulas, accounting mechanics, and theory — great for aspiring finance experts, but overwhelming for everyone else. A physician evaluating a practice acquisition, an engineer making a build-versus-buy decision, an executive defending a capital request: the concepts exist, but the bridge to real decisions doesn't.

The Financial Library builds that bridge. Every piece of content starts with a practical business problem — the kind professionals actually encounter — and teaches the financial reasoning needed to work through it. The focus is on building intuition and decision-making logic, not technical mastery for its own sake. If you understand why the numbers matter and what they're telling you, you can engage with financial discussions, challenge assumptions, and make stronger decisions.

Project SkillStrong

Bridging America's Manufacturing Skills Gap

America's manufacturing renaissance — driven by reshoring, geopolitical realignment, and landmark government investment — is creating unprecedented demand for skilled workers. Yet 70% of manufacturers report hiring difficulties, 2.1 million manufacturing jobs are projected to go unfilled by 2030, and the training ecosystem remains fragmented and misaligned with Industry 4.0 needs.

Project SkillStrong addresses this workforce crisis by combining data-driven career identification with AI-powered guidance. Through Coach Mach, an AI career advisor, SkillStrong maps personalized skill-acquisition pathways into advanced manufacturing roles — supporting high school students exploring options and adults seeking career transitions. The focus is on accessible credentials: 2-year associate degrees, certificate programs, and apprenticeships that provide faster, more affordable paths to well-paying careers.
